About Me:

I cannot sit queitly while I watch the US government ignore the needs of its citizens. We do have a say in policy making and we need to stand up a demand that our voices be heard. We need to vote for change, the established politicans need to be replaced by more unconventional leaders. The Consitution was founded on the principle that the government should be overthrown when it no longer works for its people.
Overthrow the Current Establishment

I am a true HST enthusiast. I admire the way he lived, and strive to live the same – on my own terms. If I choose to do something it is because I believe it is right, not because it is what society or the government expects of me. I am educated and always learning, I know what is best for me and do not need others (especially the government) to tell me what that is. I will make my own decisions; so Fuck anyone that believes I should be anything other than what I am. That is not to say that I don’t value and respect other peoples thoughts and beliefs, as long as they do not try to impose them on me. Everyone has the right to believe what they will, however the one thing that upsets me the most is when people assume their beliefs are superior to others’. Right and Wrong are subjective and culturally defined; therefore there is no absolute morality.
I believe I live a good and honorable existence. I live by the principle of “Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.” I do what I want with myself and I believe that is fine as long as I do not endanger others or force them to follow my lead. It is not hard to be considerate of others and still be true to yourself.

I am a firm believer in the separation of church and state, and believe that it calls for more that just the rejection of a state mandated religion. I believe that it should extend to any religious affiliation in government. For example the pro-life/pro-choice debate should not be a matter of whether or not a politician believes abortions to by a sin but rather whether or not it is constitutional to impose regulations on a woman’s medical choices. The way I see it is, if you think abortion is a sin then it is your right not to have one, but in America there are so many religious and spiritual beliefs that there is going to be someone who believes the opposite as you. I believe that the separation of church and state implies that the government cannot determine which religion is right, for if it did then it would be favoring that religion over the others, therefore church and state would not be separate. When I am considering a political candidate their religious affiliation is not a factor, I look at their ideas on the ideal condition the nation should be in, if their worldview is flexible enough to be fair to all citizens, and if their values and priorities are similar to my own.
